Ready-to-Eat vs Ready-to-Cook: What's the Difference?
02 Oct 2026 β’ Megavin Foods Team

Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food is fully cooked. You only need to heat it β in a pan, in boiling water or in the microwave β and it is ready in about 90 seconds. Our Dal Makhani, Dal Tadka, Chole, Rajma and Biryani are all RTE.
Ready-to-Cook (RTC) products do the hard part for you. Our gravy bases already have the onions, tomatoes and spices cooked slowly for hours. You add your own paneer, vegetables or dal, cook for a few minutes and get restaurant-style taste.
Which one should you choose?
- Short on time? Pick Ready-to-Eat.
- Like to cook but hate the prep? Pick Ready-to-Cook.
- Running a restaurant or cloud kitchen? Our HORECA bulk packs give the same taste in every batch.
Both are 100% vegetarian and made without preservatives or artificial colours.
